The Marvel Cinematic Universe has brought to life some of comics’ most essential and powerful characters, including Thanos and Dormammu. Both characters have awe-inspiring abilities and strengths, but who is more powerful: Thanos or Dormammu? Additionally, while Thanos needs to use the Infinity Stones to achieve his goals, Dormammu has no such need; he can use his power to achieve whatever he desires.
Based on the evidence, Dormammu is more powerful than Thanos. While Thanos is undoubtedly powerful, his power is derived from the Infinity Stones rather than his strength. Dormammu, on the other hand, is a being of pure energy. When Thanos snapped his fingers at the end of Avengers: Infinity War, he wiped out half of all life in the universe. It was a shocking and devastating moment but also a clear demonstration of Thanos’ power. However, it’s important to remember that Thanos only has this power level because of the Infinity Stones. Without the Stones, Thanos is just a powerful being rather than the all-powerful being he appears to be.
