The DC Extended Universe’s first ensemble movie, “Justice League,” brings together some of the biggest superhero names on the planet. The film follows Bruce Wayne/Batman (Ben Affleck) as he recruits The Flash (Ezra Miller), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), Cyborg (Ray Fisher), and Superman (Henry Cavill) to form a team to combat the threats of Steppenwolf (Ciaran Hinds) and his army of Parademons. Although the movie was plagued with production problems and not well-received by critics, it still managed to gross over $700 million worldwide.

 

Of course, “Justice League” is not the first superhero team-up movie. The Marvel Cinematic Universe has been cranking out successful ensemble films for years, starting with “The Avengers” in 2012. And while the MCU movies are generally better reviewed than the DCEU films, they both have their fair share of positive and negative reviews. For example, “The Avengers” has a 92% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, while “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” has a 27% approval rating.
