After the events of Avengers: Endgame, many Marvel fans worldwide have been asking the same question: Why didn’t the Eternals, one of the oldest civilizations in the Marvel Universe, intervene and stop Thanos from eliminating half of all life on Earth? In this article, we will look at a few possible answers to this intriguing question and explore why the Eternals seemingly stayed on the sidelines while Thanos wreaked havoc.

One possible explanation is that the Eternals were unaware of the full extent of Thanos’s plan. As a race of super-beings with near-immortality, the Eternals have lived for thousands of years and have seen firsthand the destruction that war can bring. As a result, they have adopted a more pacifistic approach to conflict and may have been unwilling to intervene in a situation they saw as being beyond their control. Additionally, the Eternals may have believed that the Avengers, who are also mighty beings, would be able to stop Thanos and his army.

Another possibility is that the Eternals were too late to intervene. By the time they became aware of Thanos’s plan, he had already assembled the Infinity Stones and could wipe out half of the universe with a snap of his fingers. In this scenario, the Eternals may have been able to stop Thanos if they had acted sooner, but by the time they realized the gravity of the situation, it was already too late.

Lastly, it is possible that the Eternals did try to stop Thanos but were outmatched. The Eternals are mighty beings, but they are not invincible. They were able to put up a good fight against Thanos and his army but were eventually overpowered. This could explain why we did not see them during the events of Avengers: Infinity War or Avengers: Endgame, as they may have been defeated early on and could not intervene.
No matter the reason, the fact remains that the Eternals did not stop Thanos from exterminating half of all life in the universe. This begs the question: if they are one of the oldest and most influential civilizations in the Marvel Universe, why didn’t they do more to prevent this tragedy from occurring? Only time will tell if we will ever get a definitive answer to this question.
Whatever the reason, the fact remains that the Eternals did not intervene to stop Thanos, and as a result, billions of innocent people were killed. While the Eternals may have had their reasons for not getting involved, it is still a tragedy that they did not do more to try and stop Thanos.
