The character’s first appearance was in The Amazing Spider-Man #252 (May 1984), and writer David Michelinie and artist Todd McFarlane created him. Venom was originally conceived as a supervillain but has since evolved into more of an antihero. The character is commonly known as the archenemy of Spider-Man. Venom has appeared in various forms of media, including comic books, cartoons, video games, and movies. The character was first introduced to the silver screen in the movie Spider-Man 3 (2007) and was portrayed by Topher Grace. Venom will again appear on the big screen in the movie Venom (2018), which is set to be released on October 5, 2018.
